What this byline means
- Guides are written for general education in plain language, with practical steps and clear boundaries.
- Health and nutrition pages name their sources and do not present themselves as veterinarian-reviewed.
- Training guidance follows humane, reward-based principles and points to professional help when a situation is unsafe or distressing.
- Each guide shows its publication and update dates so readers can see when it was last checked.
How we keep the record useful
We check source links, correct errors reported through the contact page, and revise a guide when the underlying source or practical guidance changes. Priority health, nutrition, and safety-sensitive behavior pages are queued for more frequent source checks. The editorial approach explains the sourcing, cadence, correction, and independent-review process in more detail.
Named contributors and expert reviewers
Dogward does not currently list a named veterinarian, veterinary technician, trainer, or behavior professional as a contributor or reviewer. We do not convert an editorial source check into a clinical-review claim.
When an independently qualified reviewer is engaged, the reviewed guide will display the person’s name, relevant credentials, profile link, review date, scope, and conflict disclosure. Guides without that complete record remain clearly labeled “Editorial source check.”
Qualification and disclosure standard
- Credentials must be relevant to the material reviewed and independently verifiable.
- The review scope must distinguish medical, nutrition, behavior, training, or general editorial review.
- Any payment, commercial relationship, or material conflict should be disclosed.
- A reviewer’s approval does not replace care from the reader’s own veterinary team.
